Terra Mitica is a giant amusement park located just outside Benidorm and is one of Europe’s most exciting theme parks combining adrenalin rush rides with more sedate options including water rides and replica rides for younger children. There are five different themed areas within the park, all of which are associated with the Mediterranean Sea: Egypt, Iberia, Greece, Rome and The Islands and as you walk through the park you experience various aspects of these ancient civilisations.

Terra Natura is a new wildlife park just outside Murcia and is based around the same concept as that next to Terra Mitica near Benidorm. You can see over 300 animals from 50 different species, 3 of which are close to extinction. In addition, there are over 500 examples from over 50 species of trees, shrubs and plants from the African Savannah and the Iberia Peninsula. In addition, there is Agua Natura, a 300sqm area of water rides and attractions suitable for the whole family.

Aqualandia is a must for fans of water slides, wave pools and scary rides like ‘Kamikaze’, ‘Black Hole’ and ‘Big Bang’, which is Europe’s highest chute ride. But there is something for all ages and you can relax while your younger children enjoy ‘Adventureland’.

Mundomar is an aquatic theme park. There are sea lions, penguins and many tropical birds to see. The real stars, however, are the dolphins and there is a daily trick show at 1.30pm and 4.30pm

Rio Safari at Elche is a place to enjoy nature. It is a mixture between a zoo, a safari park and a community farm. There is a wide range of animals to see at the safari including lions, tigers, jaguars, giraffes, camels, chimps and crocodiles to name but a few. There is also an aquarium with fish and reptiles and a parrot house with some excellent specimens. There is a train that runs through the park and children have the chance to feed the more domesticated animals. There is also a large swimming pool with slides so don’t forget your swimming costumes!
