El Valle Golf Course
El Valle Golf Resort - official European Qualifying School course in 2010
El Valle Golf Resort is situated in a beautiful desert valley. Holes border holes rather than properties, which gives the course an open, natural feel. It is a mid-size course and a premium is placed on accuracy rather than distance. A distinctive feature of the course is the boulder-like rock formation that runs through its length and which makes for some fabulous holes. Water hazards also add to what is a challenging and enjoyable round of golf.
Before starting your round make use of the driving range, practice bunker and putting green. Buggies and electric and pull trolleys are all available to rent from the Pro Shop.
The Daily Mail Online describes El Valle as 'by far the best course on the interlinking Nicklaus Golf Trail.... , a course that takes advantage of its desert setting to offer breathtaking views, links-like matchplay (advice: wear a windcheater) and an incredible signature 11th hole. Elevated above the rest of the back nine, the tee at the superb par-four 11th overlooks the spectacular Mar Menor sea. It offers little hope for wayward drives with the small green protected by daunting bunkers and rock formations that offer little margin for misplaced accuracy. Complemented with a number of water features, including two lakes and two elaborate stream and waterfall systems, El Valle is a truly unique stop along the Nicklaus Golf Trail....
